Unless you are someone who is naturally good at planning, meal prep can seem daunting! BUT it doesn’t have to be! If you are considering meal planning but aren’t sure where to start, here are 5 no-fail tips to make it simple!
1. Have one night of the week that is a themed night. It could be tacos, pizza, or burgers, etc. The fun part is you can always change up the recipes, but having a theme takes some of the guesswork out!
2. Re-Use family favorite recipes at least 1-2 times a week. Having a fail-proof option makes planning easier because you know everyone will enjoy the meal! One less thing you have to worry about! For us, it’s breakfast for dinner.
3. Start simple- start planning meals for your busiest time of the day (ie dinners). Dinner take the most thought and planning for our family, so that is the one meal I try to plan for each week.
4. Have at least one go-to easy dinner that you have almost always have all the ingredients on hand. It could be a soup or chili, or some type of meal with ingredients you can keep in your pantry or freezer. That way you have some thing quick to pull out of your pocket when you don’t have a plan!
5. Create a plan in the Dashing Dish app, or choose one made for you- and let us take care of the plan, recipes, and grocery list! Select “Pick Your Plan” on the meal plan page, and have one of our five dinner meal plans sent directly to your inbox each week!
