This past weekend we celebrated our baby boy coming in June with a Baby Sprinkle with some of my closest girl friends! My mom and sister Emily threw the most beautiful sprinkle with the most beautiful details!

The details included Olive Branches throughout, which was a fun way to share our son's name with family and friends, and now with all of you!

Our son's name, Oliver James Farrell, was a name given to us by God on Christmas morning, the day we found out that we were having a boy! That morning I was so sure that we would find out that our baby was a girl, but my heart told me to prepare for the possibility of both. I sought the Lord and within moments, I heard the name “Oliver” deep in my heart. I thought, that's a cute name, I wonder what the meaning is. I did a quick search and found out it means “Peace”, and at that moment I knew we were going to have a son, and his name would be Oliver.
A few hours later on Christmas morning, it was confirmed that we were having a boy!
The next morning, the Lord brought me to two scriptures that confirmed the character behind his name. The first being Philippians 4:7, which says, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”. I learned of this kind of peace, one that doesn’t and shouldn’t make sense in the midst of my miscarriage just a month and a half before becoming pregnant with our son. This season, though one of the hardest I’ve ever faced, brought me to know God’s peace and presence in a deeper way than I had ever experienced before.
The second passage of scripture I read was the story of Noah. in Genesis chapter 8, Noah sent out a dove to see if there was land near by. The dove returned with an olive branch, which was a symbol of hope and peace after a long period of storms. It was then that I could see how fitting the name "Oliver" was for our miracle baby that brought so much hope and peace after the storms we had faced!
The middle name James was given to us after the Lord gave us a promise in the beginning of this pregnancy from the book of James. Shortly after becoming pregnant with this baby, I had all of the common fears and worries that i'm sure most women experience after losing a baby. James 1:17 kept us anchored in truth, as we reminded our hearts that every good and perfect gift is from our Father above! I prayed and spoke over my body daily that it was perfectly designed to carry out a full term pregnancy, and I trusted that God was knitting together a perfect baby in my womb, and He certainly has fulfilled His promise!

For food we enjoyed salads, grilled chicken, fruit, and fresh bread from The Laundry in Fenton. It was delicious!

Dessert was a variety of treats from the dessert table such as sugar cookies, donuts, and vanilla cake.

After dinner and dessert we headed into the family room to play some shower games.

Followed by opening gifts, which Maddie helped me with, and boy did she enjoy opening her brothers presents, especially the toys and clothes!

It was such a special day celebrating with family and friends!

Before the ladies left, each one filled out a card with prayers and encouragement for Sean and I, which was really special to read through later when we got home!

And for favors, each of the ladies took home a succulent plant. Overall, it couldn't of been a more special day!

Thanks for sharing in on this special day to celebrate our little Oliver James! As we eagerly wait for his birth in just a few weeks, we are thankful to finally be able to share the meaning behind our son’s name, and this special celebration of his life! I'm so thankful for every person that has prayed for us and encouraged us on this journey! We can't wait to meet him and introduce him to all of you! xo Katie
