I think we can all agree that the Spring of 2020 was anything but "normal"; But if we can gain anything good from it all, I think we can agree that it has made all of us a bit more thankful for anything that feels anything like normal. Which makes me realize; We often refer to 2020 as a measure for perfect vision, and if nothing else, 2020 has surely brought a perspective change for all of us! Personally, i'm more thankful than ever for the things that I used to take for granted. Health, family, friends, and even the simple daily things that seem so normal. Today i'm sharing some of my favorite memories from the spring, most of which were at home, with my favorite people of all, my little family of three!

For us, spring started right around the time of lock down-quarantine. Which meant Easter was spent at home with the three of us. Maddie didn't mind it though, as her little two year old self was just thrilled about finding easter eggs and talking about Jesus! I always say, oh to be a child again; But I have to say, this season has taught me a thing or two about finding joy in the simplest things like a kid again!

Thankfully, Sean and I had a pretty easy time "adjusting" to the stay at home orders, considering we both work from home, and have been for over 10 years; And we are used to having Maddie home with us. The only thing we needed to re-learn was how to juggle everything without any help, and have better communication and purposeful time together, since we weren't able to get out alone.

Thankfully, the weather started to warm up just as quarantine began, so we spent as many days as we could taking walks and going outside, which made things feel more normal. Our golf course path also opened up since golf was shut down, so I did a lot of walking; Which was actually really good for me, as it is some of my favorite quite time spent with Jesus! Maddie and I also enjoyed the occasional picnic and outdoor tea party!

The quarantine period also gave me time to slow down and rest, which is certainly an area I need to grow in. I read a few really good books, one of which was Walking with God by John Eldridge. It was one that deeply impacted my walk with the Lord, and I highly recommend!

One of my favorite parts of the stay at home season was the weekly virtual cooking classes with all of you! It was so wonderful to feel "connected" through different means using the internet in a time that many of us felt isolated.

We also did A LOT of baking; And I mean a lot! :)

At the end of spring, we celebrated mothers day. This was just when quarantine started to lift here in Michigan, and we went to MOD pizza as a family for our first trip out in months! It was quite the celebration to leave the house! If there is one thing that Spring of 2020 taught me, it was to value what is most important. Family, home, health, and most important of all; My walk with Jesus, the only thing that is forever unchanging. xo Katie
