Hey friends! Hope you are all doing well! It's been a while since I've done a Daily Dish, and I thought what better time to share than now... If you haven't been following along on Instagram, my little family has been in Naples Florida for the past two months (January - February). We have been staying with my parents to not only have some much needed refreshing, but also to spend time with my parents and beat some of Michigan's winters. Not to mention, Michigan is mostly shut down still due to Covid, where as Florida is mostly open, so it has been wonderful to have places to go, and things to do outdoors!
It was a wonderful time spent as a family, and we made lots of amazing memories! Here are some of the fun things we did!
When we first arrived in January, my sisters and their kids were also staying with my parents. It was a fun and busy time with eight adults and five kids under five! We made lots of memories during that week, and the kids loved being together with all the cousins!
One of the things we do every year during our Naples visit is go to the Naples Zoo. Its a small zoo, but that is perfect for little kids. Just enough to walk around for about an hour, and the kids are satisfied!
We also spend a lot of time at the beach! We have found our kids in the sun, sand, and waves just makes everyone happy and content!
The kids went putt-putt golfing for the first time! The boys did great, Maddie, well let's just say I was saving her from falling into multiple water falls as she "explored" the course! ;)
We also celebrated Gabriel's (the oldest) fifth birthday. My sister Sarah got the kids matching spider man costumes, and i'm pretty sure the adults had more fun watching them than they even had as superheroes!
Once my sisters went back home, Sean and I set a schedule much like we do at home where we juggled work, daily routines, and time spent with Maddie. I'll tell ya, it sure was wonderful to spend the day with Maddie in the sunshine and water over a chilly winter feeling stuck indoors! We spent the majority of the trip in my parents pool, or at their beach club.
Maddie also took on a whole new interest in dressing up as a princess and dresses! Boy oh boy, something tells me we are going to have fun going home and she can't wear tank top dresses! ;)
There were also quite a few other fun things to do with kids in Naples, such as the Naples Kids Museum! I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area with kids up to the age of 16! So much to do for kids of all ages!
We also went to a putt putt place created by Tiger Woods called Pop Stroke, which I also highly recommend, with or without kids!
Maddie and I got to have a few special "Girls Only" Days, which I will cherish forever!
And she also loved her time with Daddy, getting donuts...
And going on Daddy-Daughter dates!
My absolute favorite thing on the trip (after not being able to eat out for almost a year) was going on a date with my husband! My parents were delighted to spend time with Maddie, and we were beyond thankful for time away the two of us!
Outside of our date nights, we also went out to eat quite a few times as a family, and made lots of memories enjoying lots of yummy food! Our favorite food places are Rocco's Tacos, Seasons 52, Tru Foods, Seed to Table, and Ocean Prime! We also love Sweet Melissas for ice cream!
The greatest treasure of all however was the time we spent with my parents! There is truly no greater gift than time spent with people you love!
We are finally home, and I can tell you, the things we will miss the most is time with my parents, (they will come back for the summer), and quite mornings taking long walks and extra quite time with Jesus! Spring in Michigan can't come soon enough! :)
Hope you all are doing wonderful, and are finding joy wherever you are! xo Katie
