Lord bless you, keep you, make His face to shine upon you and give you peace. -Numbers 6:24-26.
There wasn't a day that my sisters and I ran off to the bus that my mom didn't declare this promise of God over us. She taught us so much about Jesus without actually teaching a thing, but rather living it; and pursuing Jesus with her whole heart.
There were very few times I remember her sitting down and teaching us to walk by faith. Instead she lived it. She fought battles in prayer with us as she tucked us in every night. She worshiped all through the day, even when it looked hard. She met with other moms once a week to pray for us and the schools. She prayed every single morning with my dad before he left for work, covering our family. She showed up when it was hard, pressed in when it looked impossible, and she carried the presence of Jesus wherever she went.
I watched her as I grew up and saw her life reflecting Jesus, and it caused me to chase after Him in response. I wanted to know this love that captivated her heart for myself; And as I sought Jesus at an early age I found Him! It’s that simple, but profound. His light shines through us when we draw near to Him, and it draws others to His heart. Now I hope to do the same with Maddie.
This my friends is the kind of woman, wife, mom, that will leave a mark and legacy on generations to come. This is the beauty of a Godly character that the Bible tells us we should seek after as women. For it is there we radiate His glory to our families, children, and the people we reach.
Whether you are a mom, desire to be a mom, or are a "mom" figure to someone in your life, I want to encourage you. You don't have to be perfect, do "all the things", or say everything with just the right tone.
Love Jesus and chase after Him with all of your heart... Love people with the outpouring you receive from Him, and I can promise your example will make a mark on generations to come!
Happy Mothers Day! xo Katie
