Hey friends! It's been a while since I've done an update on life! Things have been busy since we moved to Tennessee in the best possible way! We have been enjoying meeting new people, exploring new places, and growing in our new church! We have also been trying get a "new normal" established for our family here, and establish a new schedule.

Maddie and Ollie have been enjoying the summer together, and truly enjoy playing with one another. It's pretty amazing how the age gap of five years doesn't stop them from playing, and they are becoming the best of friends! They get along really well, and Maddie is such a good big sister, acting like a second momma to him!

Ollie is two, and learning something new every day! He repeats everything I say, and he loves to explore. Many people hate the age of two, but I have loved it with both of my kids! Sure, they have some big emotions and melt at times, but they are also learning SO much and I love watching them explore and grow. I also feel that I was very blessed by two pretty easy going kids, who are truly enjoyable to be around! He currently he loves trains, and he is a social bug making friends with everyone wherever we go!

Maddie is seven, and so full of joy! She has such a gentle and meek heart, and she is incredibly creative... And there are big changes coming for both of us this year!
After her first year at school here in Tennessee, we started to feel a call to homeschool. There were many reasons we were drawn to homeschool, but many of the reasons came back to wanting to teach our kids not only school, but also about Jesus, life skills, and instill their identity in Christ while they are young and moldable. I don't think that we can shelter our kids from everything, but if I can guard their hearts while they are learning who they are, I am all for it! I also think the education system is wonderful, but often times it doesn't allow for creativity, and exploring the gifts God gave each individual child.
Although the desire to homeschool was there for months, I continuously prayed about it because I didn't think I could do it with my schedule. The more Sean and I prayed however, the more God confirmed it was the direction He had for our family. He encouraged through His word that He would take what we had and multiply it back to us, if we followed His direction!
We found an incredible homeschool hybrid program here called Heart Academy, which is a Christian school that started in California, and is newer to Tennessee. We loved the fact that it provides a school environment with peers and a teacher, and all of the things we were worried she would "miss" if we homeschooled, and gives her the best of both worlds! She will attend Heart Academy two days a week, and I will teach Maddie the rest of the week from home. Although I don't necessarily consider myself a "teacher", I have seen God do incredible things in my life when I surrender to His plan, so I look forward to growing and learning alongside Maddie this year!

Sean is busy as ever running his golf company Hatch Golf, and I couldn't be more proud of him! He has a shop with five employees that he runs and manages, and his golf goods are being used by PGA professionals! The Lord has given us a grace towards one another in each others busy seasons, and we are always changing dynamics to support one another. Our constant need is to come back to a place of checking our priorities, making sure God is first, our marriage is second, kids are third, and the rest comes after that! It's not always easy, but that is why we are always re-assessing!
With Jesus, the good days are great, and even the difficult days are filled with peace that passes all understanding. For every one of you that loves on our family with all of your prayers and support.... THANK YOU! We feel them and we cherish them daily! xoxo Katie
