I’ve been journaling for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a sacred part of my walk with God. A place to remember what He’s showing me, to write down His promises, to reflect on His goodness, and to meditate on His Word.
This year, one of my goals is to deepen my prayer life. I love to pray and have always made it a priority, but if I’m being honest, I know I can go deeper... And I want to go deeper!
I have made a commitment to go deeper in prayer in the past, but I haven't stuck with it, and I know I need accountability!
So, this year I’m using my journaling (which I know I can be consistent with), as a way to hold myself accountable to deeper prayers. I have been writing out prayers for myself, my family, and others, and slowing down enough to think through and pray out the details. There’s something powerful about putting prayer on paper. It helps me stay present, intentional, and attentive to what the Lord is doing. I know it will also allow me to look back and see the specific ways God is faithful!
If you’ve been longing to go deeper too, let this be your encouragement. Start where you are. Open a notebook. Write one honest prayer. God meets us in the small, quiet moments and depth is built one faithful step at a time.
