“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” — Mark 9:24
Let’s be honest. Some days we feel full of faith, full of joy, full of confidence that God is working behind the scenes. Other days? Not so much. We wonder if we misheard Him, question His timing, or feel a wave of doubt rise up right after we thought we finally had peace.
If that’s you, take a deep breath. You’re not failing. You’re human. And you’re in good company.
In Mark 9, a desperate father says something so beautifully honest to Jesus:
“I believe; help my unbelief.”
Jesus didn’t rebuke him. He didn’t say, “Come back when your faith is stronger.”
Instead, He responded with compassion and power. Not because the man had perfect faith, but because he had real faith.
The same is true for us.
- You can believe and still wrestle with doubt.
- You can trust and still ask for help trusting.
- You can come back to Jesus again and again — and He’ll always welcome you.
When doubt creeps in, remember: Jesus isn’t asking for flawless faith. He’s asking for your honest heart. He meets you right where you are, steadying your steps, and carrying you when you feel weak. Keep showing up, keep turning your eyes back to Him, and trust that even mustard-seed faith is enough for God to move mountains in your life.
So today, don’t be discouraged if your faith feels fragile. Bring it to Him just as it is, and watch how He honors it with His strength, His peace, and His presence. Your weakness is not the end of the story. It’s the very place where His power shines the brightest.
Pray this Prayer with Me: Dear God, some days I feel full of faith, and other days I feel like I’m barely hanging on. Thank You for loving me through both. Help me return to Your truth when fear speaks louder than faith. I believe You are good. I believe You are near, even when I don’t feel it. Strengthen my faith and calm my anxious thoughts. I trust that You are holding me steady, even when I waver. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
