Have you ever found yourself living each day and telling yourself, "Maybe when I" lose 10 pounds I’ll book that beach vacation or "Maybe when I" feel more confident I’ll schedule those family photos or "Maybe when I" lose five pounds I’ll get those jeans I’ve always wanted. Yea! Me too! There are so many moments we let slip away because we think the future will be better than where we are today. But as someone who let the "Maybe when I" control her life, knows that allowing those moments to slip away was no form of living the way God intended me to live.
God created us to enjoy life and live a life of fullness and joy. He created us in His image and a perfect image at that, but we have allowed the world's view of perfection to skew God’s view of perfection in us. We’ve allowed moments of insecurity and failure to take our in the moment life hostage as we fall victim to the world. But I’m here to tell you that there is so much more joy when you decide to break free from the "Maybe When I" mentality and allow yourself to live in the now. Instead of allowing yourself to believe the lies that the "Maybe When I" tell us, starting living life by booking that family vacation because making memories with loved ones means more than losing 10 pounds first. Capture those family photos now because your family will never be in this stage of life again. Buy the jeans you’ve always wanted because the number on the tag doesn’t define the woman that God created you to be.
It’s so important to lean into God in the moments when we fill ourselves with doubt and insecurity. Pray about overcoming the "Maybe When I" so God can help you to live in the now. We are created so beautifully and so uniquely that God doesn’t design us to be the same as our neighbor; you are designed to be who He made you to be. So keep close to the word and let go of the Maybe When I values of the world.
If this is a desire in your heart start by praying this prayer. " Father, Thank you for making me so unique. Thank you for creating me in Your perfect image. Sometimes I get lost but help me to be the woman You created me to be. Help me to honor You in all my choices and not fall victim to the worlds version of perfection because all I need is to see myself the way You see me. I'm honored to be the daughter of the King and I'm counting on You to save me and protect me when I'm vulnerable. Amen."
