Summer is upon us! I absolutely love the longer days and brightness of God's creation this time of year. What better way to celebrate than to share my favorite Dashing Dish Recipes that scream Summertime?! I have included some of my favorites for inspiration! Plus, a few healthier store bought snacks that are perfect for Summer!

Store Bought Summer Snack Ideas
Frozen Grapes:
These are SO fun! Especially for kids! You can even make "Sour Patch" grapes by tossing them in True Lemon packets (or True Lemon Drink mixes)! If you can find cotton candy grapes, they make an awesome combo!

Halo Top/Eat Enlighted/Yasso:
I try to stick to making my own homemade versions of protein ice cream when I can to save on cost most of the time. I make one of the Dashing Dish Protein Shakes and freeze it in a Tupperware, then eat it with a spoon! However, when they are on BOGO, I stock up! You can get a coupon for Eat Enlightened here. I think I actually like them better than Halo Top now!

My favorite flavors of the Eat Enlightened pints are Red Velvet, Movie Night, Cookies & Cream, and Brownies, Cookie Dough, Marshmallow Peanut Butter (so good on top of a chocolate mug cake!!), and White Chocolate Raspberry. The bars are good too! My favorite of those are Frozen Hot Cocoa and Sea Salt Caramel! There are several new flavors of both pints and bars which I haven't found yet! But I am on the hunt!!
My favorite Halo Top flavors are the seasonal ones like Gingerbread House! As far as the flavors they carry year-round, I really like PB&J, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mochi Green Tea, and Vanilla Bean. I have not tried their bars.
Both brands also offer dairy-free options, but I have only tried some of Halo Top's line, and they are good. There are no local stores carrying the dairy-free Eat Enlightened so I haven't gotten a chance to try them.
Yasso has good yogurt bars, but I have not tried their pints. I like the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Sea Salt Caramel, and Pistachio Brittle best. My hubby loves the Fudge Brownie, Butter Pecan, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough best.

Popcorn:
Nothing says summer like movie night! And nothing goes with movie night quite like popcorn. Angie's Boom Chicka Pop and Skinny Pop both make light popcorn options which you can buy premade in large, or even small bags. The taste very fresh and are a great option for a ready to eat snack.

For fresh popped popcorn, I like Black Jewel which I make in our air-popper! I have also seen on Pinterest where you can pop popcorn in a brown lunch bag in the microwave without oil, but haven't tried it yet. Then I spray it with cooking spray and toss with seasoning of choice. You can go sweet or savory route depending on what you're in the mood for! I like Cavender's Greek seasoning for savory. For sweet, I toss it in cocoa, PB2, and Splenda or Stevia. You can even add cinnamon, or try this recipe!

Brad's Plant Based Veggie Chips:
These are super clean, very healthy, natural ingredients. To me, they are more like crackers than chips, but either way they are so good. They are gluten free, raw, soy free, and vegan—even the cheddar flavor! They also have crunchy kale chips, but I have not tried those.

Veggies & Hummus:
I love all the different flavors of hummus that are available now, and so many brands make great clean options! Veggies with hummus is the perfect simple snack or even last minute dish to bring to a BBQ or as an appetizer to a party along with veggies for dipping! It is so much healthier than store bought dip that comes with veggie trays. I love Hope Foods and Lantana. They both come in delicious fun flavors! My favorite is the Thai Coconut Curry (Hope Foods) and the Black Bean and Cucumber (Lantana).

Outshine Bars:
I love these bars! They are not 100% natural, but are a much better alternative to most popsicles. They have two lines that I love--the Fruit Bars and the Fruit & Veggie Bars. My favorite of the Fruit Bars are Strawberry, Pomegranate, Pineapple, Peach, and Grape. The Fruit & Veggie Bars come in multipacks.

I hope this provides some great summer time snacking ideas for you all that are both healthy & enjoyable! xo Kaci
