I love these fun posts where I get to share my favorite finds with you. Thanks for the fantastic feedback telling us that you love them too. Yay for fun products! Alright, here we go. Today, I'm sharing some of the fitness-related products I'm currently crushing on. As always, if you try them, let us know. I'd love to hear what you think.
Leggings
Ok, let's shoot straight, this first item is an investment. My daughter (seemingly like all middle school girls) has been obsessed with Lululemon. I laughed at spending that kind of money on my girl, who's growing like I put fertilizer on her but agreed to at least meander around the store one day. Um, wow. I tried on a pair of the infamous Align Leggings and proceeded to eat crow. I get it. These are unlike anything I've ever put on and far from your average pair of leggings. I still think the prices are a bit obscene, but I caved, and every time I slip into their buttery soft goodness, I'm not sorry. You'll want multiple pairs. Consider yourself forewarned.
Sports Tape
If you have pain or suffer from an injury and are new to taping, prepare to be excited. You've likely seen pro athletes with strips of tape on different body areas. There's a reason the pros have gone nuts about taping – it works wonders. If you're skeptical, I don't blame you. When I discovered taping, I thought, "How in the world will this help." My skepticism lasted a moment after I realized how much relief such a seemingly benign product provided. According to physical therapists, taping works by "By helping to increase blood flow in the injured area, athletic tape decreases swelling which alleviates pain. The elasticity of the athletic tape can also serve as support for the affected muscles. It naturally returns to its original position, which takes some of the workload off the athlete's muscle. When the tape is applied to your body, it recoils slightly, gently lifting your skin. It is believed that this helps to create a microscopic space between your skin and the tissues underneath it." I've tried many different tape brands. This one is my favorite.
Walking Shoes
These are hands down the ugliest shoes I've ever loved. The G-Defy walking shoe may not win any beauty contests, but they are a game-changer for comfortable walking. If you suffer from bad knees or foot pain, these will be your new BFF. I can't recommend them highly enough or imagine buying any other walking shoe. They are worth every penny!
Energy Drink
No doubt you've read of my affection for True Lemon before. The love story continues. Recently I discovered their energy version, and it's fantastic. Sometimes I need a little pick me up in the afternoon and this gives me a noticeable burst of energy with no yucko side effects like sour stomach or caffeine jitters. Plus, it’s really tasty.
Rebounder
Want to love your workout? You kids may vie for this fun find, you'll want to keep it all to yourself. Rebounding has been around for a long time but has gained popularity recently. The reported benefits of rebounding range from a tightened tush to disease prevention and mental clarity. As a bonus, it's fun to boot! One of the most evident benefits of rebounding is that it's beneficial for almost everyone, even those with sensitive joints because approximately 80% of the shock is absorbed. I could sing the praises of rebounding for paragraphs. I encourage you to try it! I've made rebounding a regular part of my fitness regime and try to do it for at least 10 minutes 3-4 times per week. If you are new to rebounding, start with short sessions and work your way up with practice. I purchased my rebounder on Amazon but you can find them at Walmart, Dick's Sporting Goods, or Target.
