Sean and I have been working from home for over 10 years now, so I thought I’d share some tips on how we stay productive and feel our best! If your new to staying at home (especially all day with kids), it can turn into a long Christmas vacation- treats and jammies and all- which isn’t bad, but it will certainly get old after 3 weeks! Here are a few basic things we do (in order) to stay healthy and productive at home each day! Hope it helps!
1. Get up early and read your bible, and pray! Put the good news in, guard your heart from fear. Also, if you don’t do it first thing (which is why we wake up early), it probably won’t happen. So keep it first! It will make or break the day, (trust me on this!)
2. Move any ways you can. Follow an at home DD workout with weight or body weight, get outside, dance around the house, take a walk if you can!
3. Have a plan for the day. Set a schedule or routine so you aren’t feeling all over the place. Kids (and adults) thrive off structure. Ours starts with Jesus, exercise, showers, breakfast, work, then rest after dinner.
4. Get ready for the day. Even if it’s yoga pants, showering and getting “ready” helps you feel more productive than flannel pjs - which are sure to get old after day 3!
5. Meal prep. Having a plan for what you and your family will be eating will prevent mindless eating and snacking, which can spiral downward real fast! Having a plan and sticking to it will help keep your family healthy and feeling more normal! Now is a great time to try out the Dashing Dish meal plans if you haven’t already! Plus extra bonus- groceries can be sent to your door or curbside pick up! Start a free trial today!
Remember this, the world isn't coming to an end. Use this time to strengthen your mind, body, and spirit! Draw closer to your family and to God.
