The Word of God is alive, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword! When we pray according to promises in the Word of God, we are praying in agreement with what God says about us! Nothing has impacted or changed my life more than when I found promises in the Word of God, wrote them down on notecards, and put them around my house, car, or wherever I could see them throughout the day! I started doing this years ago, and it was so life-changing, that I have continued to do it ever since! Whatever season we may be in, or whatever difficulties we may be facing, God's Word has an answer, a promise, and and way out! When we agree and focus our attention on these promises, we can and will overcome anything that comes our way!
These are some of my favorite scriptures that I have turned into prayers over the years. You can do this with any area of your life, and I encourage you to ask the Lord to show you scriptures that He has specifically for you...But I hope this helps get you started! I pray you are encouraged today by these prayers, and that the awesome Word of God reminds you who are in Christ, and the overcoming victory that you can have in Him!
Heavenly Father, I pray that you would help me continually put off the old self and old desires that meddle with my mind and my thought life. Renew my mind with your truth- align my thinking with your thinking and my attitude with your attitude. Purify my mind so that it becomes a reflection of your righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:22-24
I pray that your angels would encamp around me today. Protect me in the physical and spiritual realms. Defend me against the snares of the enemy that would try to trap me, tempt me, or trip me up. Deliver me from any people or situations that are purposed to harm me, and give me strength to say no to temptations.
Psalm 34:7
Lord when I am feeling weary give me stamina to continue on. Enable me to soar on wings like eagles that drift along on the current you provide rather than flap in my own strength to stay in flight.Give me energy to run and not grow weary,to walk and not be faint.May my hope in you bring power and strength to my body, spirit and soul today.
Isaiah 40:29-31
Lord, I ask that you would teach me what is best for me and help me to make the best
decisions possible. Lead me to turn my head away from potentially harmful decisions and
toward assuredly helpful choices.
Isaiah 48:17
Protect my heart from people, situations, and things that seem to be having fun and enjoy- ing themselves in a way that isn’t pleasing to you.Teach me to be content and thankful for the ways you have provided for me. Help me not to lose hope but to look forward to the rewards and eternal blessing that are sure to come as I am obedient to you.
Proverbs 23:17-18
Father strengthen my body and protect my health today. I pray that I will not wither like grass in sun-parched ground but thrive like a strong fruit tree in a well-watered garden. Isaiah 58:11
Lord, I thank you that you have a good purpose and a perfect plan for my life. A plan not to
harm me but to give me a hope and a future. Cause me to rest in the knowledge that You
have plans for me that are good, and are leading me on the best path for my life.
Jeremiah 29:11
Please bless me with a cheerful heart Father, and fill me with a song of praise and thanks- giving. Fill my heart with joy and peace that nourishes my body and soul. (Proverbs 17:22) I pray that your word would shine as a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. May your truth cast a bright beam that points me in the right direction today.
Psalm 119:105
Thank you Lord that you watch over me and my family today. Thank you Lord that you are
the shade at my right hand; the sun will not harm us by day, nor the moon by night. You Lord
keep us from all harm and will watch over our life; You watch over our coming and going
both now and forevermore.
