Momma's let’s face it; We are balancing a lot. Under normal circumstances balancing all the roles we have as moms can be daunting, but certainly now more than ever. Today, we are sharing scripture-based prayers that we hope will offer you a newfound sense of peace and source of refreshing.
Patience
Lord, when my nerves are frayed and patience with my family, situation, circumstance, even with myself wear thin, graciously remind me that you give strength to your people. You bless your children with peace (Psalm 29:11). Will you give me the fortitude to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer (Romans 12:12)? Thank you that when I need it, you give me humility, gentleness, and patience so I can love well. Your love is patient and kind, it’s the perfect model for me. Thank you that because your love is complete in me, I can be assured that I have everything I need to live victoriously during these challenging days. Lord, will you give me the strength to put on, as one of Your chosen one, a holy and beloved compassionate heart, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience with myself and everyone I encounter (Col 3:12)? Thank you, Jesus, that the fruit of your Spirit, including patience is alive and thrives in me. In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
Peace
Lord, my spirit doesn’t feel at peace. I feel confused, scared, and anxious. Despite what I feel, I cling to your promise that when I keep my thoughts firmly focused on you, you give me perfect peace (Isaiah 26:30). Jesus, you say in your Word that by trusting you, I will be unshakable and assured, and deeply at peace (John 16:33). Thank you that no matter what I face, I can be deeply comforted knowing that the kind of peace you promise is not anything I find on my own, or from anyone or anything in this world. It’s supernatural and beyond my understanding, yet just a prayer away. Will you help me speak peace to my own heart and soul? I assure my heart of your goodness. It is well with my soul. I will not be troubled, and I will not be afraid, God is with me (John 14:27). God of hope, please fill me with all joy and peace through the experience of my faith that by the power of the Holy Spirit I will abound in hope and overflow with confident peace (Romans 15:13). When the enemy tries to steal my peace and cause me to lie awake suffocating with fear and worry, give me the courage to declare, “In peace, I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8).” In my Savior’s mighty name, I pray, amen.
Ordered Days
Lord, the demand on me feels overwhelming. So many days I feel like I’m sinking under the weight of all I’m called to carry right now. I feel overwhelmed, tired, and out of order. I desperately desire a peaceful rhythm and a sense of peace and order. I come to you in earnest prayer Lord because this I know of you; you are not a God of confusion but peace and order (1 Corinthians 14:33). Thank you that you numbered the stars, put life into motion, keep this world spinning in perfect cadence, tell the wind and waves where to go, and sustain all of creation. When I consider this, I know deep in my spirit that as I ask, you also direct my steps and bring order to my days. You create time when there seems to be none. You make a way where one doesn’t seem possible. You provide for my every need from your glorious riches. You have a plan to bless me today and I trust you with all my heart. I lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge You, and I’m assured that you will make straight my paths. Please Lord, order my every step today for your glory and to bring blessing to my life and those around me. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
Courage
Lord, I want to be brave. I want to be courageous. I want to have unshakable peace and unwavering faith. Sometimes that feels so easy, I feel strong and courageous. Then, other times, seemingly without warning I find myself feeling so afraid, weak, and fainthearted. In those moments Lord, cause me to rise and remember your instruction to, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).” I know you will never leave me or forsake me, Lord. Thank you that I am strong in you and in the strength of your might, not my own. Thank you that I need not fear, you are with me. Thank you that when I feel weak you strengthen me and help me. Thank you, Jesus that you uphold me and make me brave (Isaiah 41:10). Regardless of what I hear or read; I will not be afraid of bad news. My heart is firm because I trust in you (Psalm 112:7). This I declare and in this I will stand, “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” In Jesus’ name, I lay claim to these promises, amen.
