It’s almost the new year, which means programs and diets will be tempting for so many; But I always like to remind people - how did that work for you last year!?
I get it- it’s tempting to want a quick fix when you feel stuck. Unfortunately, none of us get where we are (good or bad) quickly. It takes time, day after day choosing habits and being consistent with them.
So what if we flipped the script and focused on habits we can change, just a few things at a time and consistently applied those changes until they became a new normal…. And kept on going!?
Some other tips that help change become sustainable is finding swaps or alternatives for current habits you want to change. Replacement is always easier than cutting cold turkey. And support and accountability are key when making changes that you want to stick with.
Lastly, so much of change starts in our minds and what we believe we are capable of. Ask God for a renewed vision of yourself and ask Him what He has for your health this year. He will lead you to the best path for your life, including caring for your body!
Stay tuned for January 1st for something that will help guide you to form habits that will stick with you for life, as well as accountability and support that is unlike anything else!
