It's officially the end of December; Which means a time to celebrate and spend time with family, friends, and those we love! It is also the time of year that most of us stop to reflect what we have (or haven't) achieved over the past year that we had planned to. For most of us, many of those goals were related to our health, fitness and nutrition; And statistics show that 92% of the New Years resolutions goals fail. If you feel you are in that boat, read on!
If you’re not already familiar with Stronger Together, it is a program created out of a practice I did for years– that practice was born out of frustration. I too was one of the people that saw almost all of my New Years goals fail. January would roll around and I would be fired up to set and achieve big things; Then after a few weeks or months if I was lucky, I would be right back at the same place as I was before and was beyond discouraged.
It's only now that I understand that it wasn't wrong to set goals and try to accomplish them at the New Year; I was just wrong in thinking that I could achieve them without a plan. More specifically, a plan to set new habits. Since then I have learned that when we take on a new goal, it will take an investment to lay a foundation of habits, but that investment is beyond worth it! The reason!? Once it becomes a habit, not only do we reach our goal, but we are able to take on new goals and continue to grow in other areas once that "thing" we couldn't seem to get a handle on before becomes an effortless part of our daily routine.
In the area of nutrition and fitness for example, I have healthy habits that have been laid in my life over the course of time that make living a healthy lifestyle a no-brainer. I don't have to invest much time, thought or energy; As it comes pretty natural to me because I took the time to invest in laying a foundation of habits in this specific area.
I speak about this in my book Nourish and I highly recommend that as a companion for this program; Which brings me to our purpose behind creating Stronger Together. After writing Nourish, I had so many women come to me telling me it has impacted their life tremendously, and I began to think about how to put these lifestyle and habit changing foundational truths into a program that busy women could put into practice in a fun, motivating atmosphere. I began to think and pray about the ways we could focus on one habit, one goal at a time that would impact women's hearts, minds, and bodies forever by laying a new foundation for health; And shortly after Stronger Together was created!
This program is different than anything else out there because it was created with habit formation in mind. When I wrote Stronger Together alongside my two incredible team members and fellow ST coaches (Kaci, PA and Sarah, Certified HC), I knew that I wanted to follow the principal of: "Give a man a fish which would feed him once, but teach him to fish and feed him for life." And I believe based on the feedback from our first round of ST that we have done just that!
If you desire to see change in the area of your journey to health, you desire to take your health and fitness to a new level, or you are unsure of where to begin on a weight loss journey, I believe this program is the next step for you! If you have wanted to form habits that would help you see your goals through to completion, let Sarah, Kaci, and myself come along side you with the strength of community and other women and begin to narrow down your focus and start this new year with intention! Yes, you are worth investing in, and yes THIS IS THE YEAR you start to feel your very best! You only get one life and one body, and there is no better time to start building new habits that will carry you through the rest of your life than now! You are worth it!!! So what are you waiting for!? Let's get Stronger Together!
