One question I get asked a lot is... How do you get 'back on track' after you indulge' for special occasions, holidays, parties, etc....(Or should I say over-indulge, because let's face it...It happens to the best of us!) ;)
Well, it's simple really...I eat the same that I normally do all day long, (I might cut out a few 'extra' little treats that I would typically have throughout an average day)....And I eat the same as I normally do the following day!
You see, 'living healthy' is truly a way of life, which means day in-day out, you balance eating healthy, exercising, and of course rest! (Which is why you want to find exercise you enjoy (read more about that here) and find ways to turn the foods you love into healthy dishes...I hope I can help with that!) :)
"Lifestyle" also means that you will have moments in life where you won't have access to healthy options, and/or you don't want to eat healthy...and thats OK!!! Life isn't perfect, and a 'healthy lifestyle' isn't about perfection! The most important thing is that you start fresh again the each and every day, (yes..even after over-indulging), and continue on in the journey of health for life!
Just remember, no one has ever gained 5-10-20lbs over night, or from one meal or dessert...It's when people restrict themselves for too long and then go on a 2 week indulgent period, and then feel so guilty, they feel like they mine-as-well never start to try again...So they don't...And slowly the pounds pile on!
It's this totally defeated mindset that you have 'blown' it that makes people feel like they shouldn't even try! That's why it's important that no matter what, you keep in mind that it's never too late to care about your health! Just pick back up and keep going! :)
Here is a perfect example of what i'm talking about, this past weekend I went to a wedding...With not only one AMAZING DINNER, and CAKE, but they also had A CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN!!!! Talk about recipe for indulgence! :)
That day (knowing I would probably have a indulgent dinner that night) I had a normal breakfast, lunch, and snack for the day, and worked out as I normally would. I then went ahead and indulged in every wonderful treat they had to offer, (except for the appetizers, which didn't really appeal to me,and I didn't have any alcohol). I enjoyed every bite of my wonderful dinner (that was in no way healthy), I had 1/2 a slice of cake, and I REALLY dug-into the fondue!
The next day, I simply woke up and started my day with a wonderful protein shake as I normally do, and continued on with my 'usual' deliciously-healthy daily eats...and guess what...I didn't gain an ounce...And never do after these special events...Why!?! Because I pick right back up where I left off! :) That's why it's called a LIFESTYLE!! It's EVERY day that counts not one meal or one workout...But the every day efforts that add up! :)

And now on to my daily eats....And some pics of my friends Beautiful Fall Wedding! :)
I started my day off with 30 minute circuit training workout, followed by my Pumpkin Pie Milkshake!

For lunch I had a Veggie-Burger Pizza on La Tortilla Wrap Bread with tons of Veggies! Yum! Zoey had her eye on this one! ;)

For a snack I had a greek yogurt with some stevia and cocoa powder in it! Yum! Tastes like Chocolate Cheesecake!

And one of my Triple Chocolate Chunk Muffins!

I then got all dressed up (which I love)... and we were off to the wedding! The wedding took place at The Inn at St.Johns..which is where Sean and I also got married! We managed to get a few quick snap-shots in the room where Sean and I got married a little over a year ago now. It looked slightly different without all the decor...But it was still beautiful!

It brought back lots of wonderful memories to be in that room again!

Everything about The Inn at St.Johns is GORGEOUS! It's truly a magical place!

My handsome Hubby!

Over looking the Atrium where the wedding was held!

The BEAUTIFUL bride and I...This girl is stunning inside and out! Her laugh is contagious and brightens the whole room!

Her stationary was Gorgeous!

She had Jones soda personalized for favors...Love this idea!

The Stunning Room!

Loved her cake!

The Menu!

I got the Chicken, with mashed potatoes and asparagus! Amazing!!!

I had a piece of the raspberry/vanilla cake! It was delicious!

However...It was the chocolate fondue that really won me over! :)

Sean and I had way to much fun doing the 'fondue'!!!

I licked the sticks clean!!! :)

Beautiful wedding..Amazing food...Wonderful friends!

Have a blessed week everyone! And remember, living a healthy lifestyle is about the big picture...It's more than a few pounds, a workout or two, or a piece of cake...It's about treating our bodies right every day...After all~ we only get one! :)
