WOW~ Hard to believe another week has flown by! Ever since I got married (in August) the weeks have been going by quicker than ever! I guess it's because being a wife has been such a joy in my life, and it sure does keep me busy...Although I'm sure time speeds up even more when you have kids!
This week was very productive for me, I had two interviews, (both went well) and have sat down with my husband to discuss some long-term goals for our future! :) We also celebrated Mothers Day (a week late) with my mom by having a BBQ at my parents house!
I love BBQ's...I think it may be my favorite thing to do when the weather gets warm! There are so many things you can make (veggies being my favorite) that just seem to taste better when grilled! I hope you all had a productive week, and took some time to spend with the people who mean the most to you! :)
Now, on to the Daily Dish!
For breakfast...I had my usual protein shake, only today I added some cocoa powder to make a 'Reese's' version of my peanut butter shake! I had this with 1/2 a chocolate peanut butter chewy granola bar, (protein kind) sprinkled on top for crunch!

And followed it with a cup of coffee (currently, my favorite Keurig coffee flavor is Irish Cream!) I also love Saturday's because I get to sit and have my coffee and just hang out with the hubby and Zoey! As you can see, she had her eye on my coffee cup, (which I rested on the couch next to me).

I left the room for a quick moment, and look what I came back to find! I should of known! Little stinker was CAUGHT!!! At least I was done with it!

Mmmm...I hope that was good Zoey...Because your in trouble now! ;)

For lunch I warmed up some Morning Star 'Chicken Strips' (I love these because they are quick to make, and you don't have to worry about cooking them through like regular chicken...Just pop them in a sautee pan or microwave for 2 minutes to de-thaw and they are ready to eat!)

I mixed in some frozen broccoli, spinach, and cherry tomatoes, with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, and garlic.

And last but not least, I added some of my new favorite seasoning, Parmesan Herb! It is PACKED with flavor and makes veggies taste delectable!

Meanwhile, I was cooking up some Carba Nada Noodles...(My sister Emily found them in our local grocery store- Country Market!) These noodles are amazing, 12 g protein, low in carbohydrates and calories, and they truly taste incredible!
Emily did a more detailed review on these noodles on her blog!
However, if you can't find these specific noodles, there are many other 'types' of noodles that are much better options than 'traditional' pasta, (not that there is anything wrong with regular pasta, however, it doesn't have a whole lot of nutritional value for the amount of calories).
The better options are those with fiber/protein/ whole wheat/whole grain, because they keep you full for longer, and don't spike your blood sugar! (AKA~They give you more satisfaction and energy for the caloric BUCK!) :)

I put the noodles on a plate, and topped it off with the chicken and veggies! Mmmmm!

For a snack, I had a slice of my bananza bread!

It's sooo good when it's warmed in the microwave for 30 seconds!

I had a sparkling lime water on the side... it's like having diet 7-up without the artificial sweeteners/flavors! (This was the star of the sparkling strawberry lime smoothies I made this week!)

And for dinner we went to my parents house for a (late) Mother's Day BBQ~ By far my favorite meal of the day!!! I love everything about BBQ's, time spent with family...and preparing, grilling and enjoying awesome food!!!
We had chicken breasts (with honey BBQ sauce), a big salad, grilled corn on the cob, asparagus, and grilled onions! I ate half the asparagus before I took the picture, (oops!) :)

We finished everything off with one of my favorite desserts~ strawberries and blueberries with a big dollop of whip cream! :)

And, In honor of family BBQ's...I thought I'd share a 'flashback' picture! Here is a picture of my sisters and I sharing a summer BBQ meal when we were young~ (I'm the one with my hand on my head!)

If you haven't already made time to get out and grill this spring, I highly suggest it! You can make (almost) anything taste awesome when you marinate and/or season it, and throw it on the grill! Not to mention, it's a great excuse to get family and friends together and share a healthy and tasty meal!
Now it's time for you to share!!! What is your favorite thing to BBQ!?!
