I think we can all agree that the Summer of 2020 was anything but "normal" for all of us; But if we can gain anything good from all that took place, I think we can agree that we have become more thankful for normal. We often refer to 2020 as a measure for perfect vision, and if nothing else, 2020 has surely brought a perspective change!
Personally, i'm more thankful than ever for the things that I used to take for granted. My family, friends, our health, and even the simple daily things that make life feel "normal"... Anyone else!? 🙋♀️ Today i'm sharing some of my favorite memories from the summer; Most of which were spent at home with family but like I said, I now see daily life from a new perspective, and am so thankful for the "normal" things more than ever!
The summer started off with the crew from Cornerstone Christian Television coming to my parents house to start filming season 2 of the Dashing Dish cooking show. Originally we had planned to start filming in March, so we were thankful when we finally got the approval to shoot in June. Being that we have a whole season of shows behind us, the crew has truly become like family!

We learned a lot from season one, which helped smooth out the filming process and have more fun; Which I think comes out in the shows! We have some really exciting themes this season, as well as some new and returning guests, fun stories, tips and tricks, and a lot of laughs in the kitchen! Each show has about four recipes, all of which are clean eating favorites made healthy!
After wrapping the first seven shows from season two, we celebrated Maddies 3rd birthday on June 11! It was a perfect small gathering with family to celebrate with her Under the Sea, Maddie Turns 3 Birthday Party!
Also- How is my baby girl already three!?
And shortly after we celebrated my 35th birthday!

Fourth of July seemed to come quick as it always does! We spent as much time outside enjoying the summer sun as we could soak up this summer.

In the beginning of August, the crew came back for the second six shows of the second season of cooking shows, which included family and a few friends. These shows included some of my personal favorite recipes, but even more so conversations, themes, and memories!

The second season just started airing, and will continue to air until the holidays! Be sure to watch a new episode every Tuesday on CTVN, or catch the replay on Dashing Dish Video Page!

My family and I soaked up every last bit of summer in Northern Michigan, which is beautiful this time of year!

We stayed in a home we rented in Traverse City Michigan, and made some of the most wonderful memories!

To finish off the summer, we made a trip to the Detroit Zoo, where the animals were all out and active! Maddie is an animal lover, so she had a great time seeing all the animals we so often read about in books!
And that my friends is a quick wrap up of some of our daily life over the last few months here on the Daily Dish! It's hard to believe summer has already come and gone; It always seems like it goes too quick! However, a part of me is looking forward to the fall and all the beautiful smells, colors, and memories it can bring! Hope you all had a beautiful summer as well, and are enjoying some of the more simpler things! xo Katie
