Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. What is does your PERFECT gift look like?
When I was little, my dream gift was all things Barbie; From the houses to the cars, the outfits and everything in between, I was a Barbie girl through and through!
When I was a teenager, I'm sure my dream gift included anything sparkly and shiny- most likely in the form of clothes, shoes, jewelry, and gadgets.
When I became an adult, my wish list went from material things to the things money can't buy; Finding a career, getting married, becoming a mom, etc. And although these are all wonderful gifts from God, I have come to find that the greatest gift of all is one that has already been given.
James 1:17 tells us that "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
Although I was born and raised in a Christian home, and always knew about God's love, when I became an adult I began to pursuit a deeper personal relationship with God, and it was then that I discovered what a gift Jesus really was, and this year more than ever I have learned about Jesus's redemptive love, the perfect and most complete gift of all.
Although this past year has brought so much heart-ache, unknowns, fear, and wonderings to many; God is still the giver of the most perfect and good gifts we will ever receive. He sent His son, Jesus, to redeem all who trust in Him.
The word redeem means, "to gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment."
No matter what you feel has been lost this year, know that Jesus can redeem, restore, payback, and heal all that seems lost, diminished, or stolen!
Thank you Father God, for your precious Son, who was sent to buy back your children! Jesus, the reason for the season, is the greatest gift of all! Have you received Him?
