There’s only one way to ensure a stress-free Thanksgiving, and that's planning! I’m sharing my Thanksgiving checklist to make sure your holiday goes off without a hitch. Here's my day by day tried and true plan that can be started up to one week before the big day!
1 Week Before:
- Make a guest list and send invites with time/date/attire
- Write down menu as well as groceries you'll need
- Inform guests what you would like them to bring
3-4 Days Before:
- Clean your house
- Decorate table with seasonal décor
- Defrost turkey
2 Days Before:
- Begin to prep ingredients (dice chop, etc.)
- Bake cakes/pies
1 Day Before:
- Prepare any side dishes that can be made ahead of time (you can make the dishes all the way up to the baking point- and bake Thanksgiving day)
- Set the table
Thanksgiving Day:
- Place turkey in oven (allow 45 minutes-1 hour extra time for cooking just in case it isn't finished when you planned)
- Get ready for the day
- Cook/warm side dishes
- Make gravy
- Set out appetizers
- Serve dishes family style and enjoy family and friends!
