Scripture: "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." Colossians 2:8-10
Reflection: If you're honest do you struggle or feel unhappy with the "package" -- the body, the appearance, the abilities, you've been given? Do you sometimes feel incomplete or like you lack in certain ways? Sometimes when we feel this way, it's easy to turn to something or someone as ways to seek fulfillment and completeness. We must remind ourselves though that the Word of God promises that we are complete in Christ. Complete means lacking nothing, whole, full!
We must also remember that the Lord doesn't see us the way we see ourselves, or even others. When He looks upon us He simply sees Jesus. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves just who we are! If you're struggling to accept the package you came in today, it's time to speak out loud the truth of who you are! Declare, I am full of life, love, and lavish gifts.
Declare, I am whole, I don't need to fill places in my life with counterfeits. I am lacking nothing because in the eyes of Christ I am EVERYTHING worth dying for. It's a difficult reality to comprehend, but when the God of the Universe looks at you He literally sees no flaws. He sees His beautiful, important, chosen, forgiven, beloved daughter with whom He is FULLY pleased. In Him, you are complete because His love for you is complete. Live whole and full today, sister, you're the daughter of a king!
Prayer: Lord, where and when I struggle to believe it, will you help convince my heart and mind, down to my innermost being, so deeply rooted that no doubt or lie of the Enemy can touch it, that I am complete in You? Will you help me to live in this truth and enjoy the peace of truly believing it? Lord, will you help me to model it to others as well? Thank you for loving me so completely that you somehow, beyond my comprehension, are no able to see no lacking thing within me. Nothing is broken about me. Nothing accidental or flawed in my appearance, character, or calling. Thank you for redeeming me perfectly. In Jesus precious name I pray, amen.
