“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind, and self-control].” 2 Timothy 1:7

Who needs to be reminded of who they are today? When we believe that we are powerless to change areas of our lives that we desire to improve – health, hope, happiness, or holiness – we buy into a lie from the Enemy. We’ve lost sight of, maybe even forgotten, who we are in Christ. On this side of heaven, we will struggle, yes, but we are not defeated. The Bible makes promises to assure us that we do indeed have the power to influence change in our lives. We’re told that God has given us His very spirit of His power. He declares us seated at the right hand of power. We’re encouraged to press forward, knowing that we have the power of resurrection life within us.

Do you need to dust off today and be reminded of Whose you are? Regardless of your past or present, you can begin this very day working toward the abundance of life, peace, and joy your heavenly Father has in mind for you! No matter how real the lie may appear, remember, and recite the promise that you have direct access to the God of the Universe, who can accomplish more in and through you than you even dare dream or imagine! May you meditate on the promises and blessings that are yours through Christ and walk confidently, knowing that the same power that rose Christ from the grave operates within those who love Him.
