God desires the best for you. Do you believe that? His will for you is good. Are you convinced of it? The Word of God promises that God's will is to prosper us. His will is to give us hope. His will and desire are that all of His children know Him intimately and having a saving knowledge of the truth. HIs will is to give us a heart of thanksgiving and gratitude. His will is to bestow upon us generously all the strength and wisdom we need to be victorious in this life. THAT is the true will of God. Why then, do we as believers so often resort to trusting our own strong-will above His? Why are we tempted to offer the Lord the easy parts of our lives, but prone to tuck others under our own wing to care for? Submitting every aspect of our lives to God's great care is the desire of every well-intentioned lover of Jesus, yet, when we're honest, one of the most difficult to carry out.
Maybe this year you have desires in your heart that you're simply not sure will come to pass? Maybe you have goals for your health that seems insurmountable. Maybe you have a dream tucked carefully in your heart that seems too risky to pursue? Maybe you have fallen a few too many times and simply aren't sure God's strength is enough to lift you up upon sturdy ground? Friends, can I just assure your heart today that your best case scenario is ALWAYS God's goodwill for you? I know full well the struggle to believe deep down in the most tender places of our heart that He is indeed good and that His will is always, always in our best interest. When you face the decision today to trust God's will or your own, will you leap into His arms with faithful abandon and declare, "Jesus, may YOUR will be done on earth as it in heaven." He will catch you, every time. Blessings on you today.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
