"Then God said, 'Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.'" Genesis 1:26
Do you view yourself in light of Christ himself? When you look in the mirror, can you look beyond it to your spiritual self?
Let’s consider the God of the Universe. Take a moment to reflect on the One who set the stars in the sky, brushes the landscape with breathtaking color, intricately perfects and holds life in a water-filled womb, and carved the vast and colossal alps with His very hands. In all His glory, He also formed you.
Sure, we'll talk about it. We know. But do we know? Do you agree in your heart and spirit? Not just your mind. Deep in the hidden places of your being, do you truly understand the profound significance of your chosen life? It's tempting to give in to our eyes and gaze too long at our physical image.
When we do, we can easily fall into the temptation to indulge in unkind thoughts or words toward what we see. You are so much more than just a body. When the Lord dreamt of you and fashioned you, He made you in His exact image, but notice, your likeness is not merely physical. Much more importantly, you reflect Christ exactly in your spirit, the very essence of who you are is why you have immeasurable worth. Today, may we all give praise for our true reflection.
You reflect Christ, and there is simply nothing more beautiful, my sisters!
