He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Did you ever notice how many of Jesus' blessings were a direct response to faith on the part of the recipient? Jesus did not tell the leper, "By my power, I will heal you." He didn't tell the bleeding woman about the Father's will for healing. He always maintained that it was the faith of the recipient that made them well. Each person is given a measure of faith.
What can we do to increase our faith? Trust – in baby steps. A small act of trust leads to an unwavering confidence in God's goodness. We begin by examining His character and believing that He is faithful. Let your faith breed hopeful expectancy today as you hope in His blessings. Whether you pray simply or say, "Lord, I believe," your faith will be strengthened. Let us declare that the Lord is good! He is worthy of our trust!
