Scripture: "But we can understand these things [God's secret treasures], for we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:16
Reflection: Do you ever wish God would just send you an email or a text with His thoughts and plans for your life? Your decision making? Your plans? Me too! Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. While we can't always know or understand what God is thinking or planning, we can participate in making His thoughts our thoughts. Scripture tells us that, as believers, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the mind of Christ. This is amazing news! This means we can be assured that the Lord does give us insight into some of His thoughts, plans, and actions when we keep our mind's steadfastly focused on Him. When you pray and seek God's will for your situation, make sure that you're spending enough time with Him to have His very mind -- His very thoughts at the center of your plans. This comes from consistent time spent with the Lord. It comes by inviting Him into your day to day activities. It comes by spending time in God's Word. If you're facing big decisions today or yearning for God's direction in your life, remember, you DO have the mind of Christ and when you seek Him, He is always faithful to provide the wisdom, resources, and courage to fulfill His good and perfect will for your life. Keep your mind in sync with His today and know that He if for you!
Prayer: Lord, your ways and thoughts are high above mine, so I trust that you know what's best for my life. I thank you though that through Christ I can share in your thoughts and plans for my life. Today Jesus, I ask that you enable and strengthen me to keep my mind fixed on you. Help to think about the things of heaven. When I pray, give me the confidence to know that you've heard me and that though I may not see it yet, plans are already in motion to provide answers. Lord, I commit to spending enough time with you to be able to clearly and easily recognize when my thoughts are your thoughts. Thank you Lord, that your plans for my life are always to give me hope and a good future. In Jesus, name I pray, amen.
