A recovering perfectionist, I tend to be tough on myself. Every day is an exercise in mind renewal and intentionally viewing my life through the lens of Christ. Freedom from a false identity and skewed body image begins with an acute understanding that God does not see the dreadful person I often perceive in myself. He is not distracted by my imperfections and failures. His vision is 20/20 and clothed in the righteousness of Christ. He only sees the perfection of His Son.
It's an incomprehensible truth to grasp. A reality that can challenge our souls to reconcile the monumental importance of accepting the Lord's loving view. More importantly, we allow His opinion of us to penetrate our thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and behavior toward ourselves. In God's view, you are beautiful. You are special because you are an extension of Him. From the Lord's perspective, you are full of potential, a woman designed to accomplish the works He preordained for you to expand His kingdom and bring Him glory. In the eyes of God, you are a minister.
How tempting to subscribe to lying thoughts that convince us otherwise. "A minister needs a far more sinless past than mine," you may think? Perhaps you've bought the story that years of theological training or formal ministry are a must-have to become a woman God uses to move mountains. Nope! None of that is true. Right here, right now. For such a time of this, you were formed with a ministry to fulfill. You are imperative to the kingdom of God, and you were created for a purpose. This purpose will prevail in your life once you have surrendered yourself entirely to His will (Prov. 19:21).
When you step into it, your speech will bless those around you, your actions will strengthen your relationships, your prayers will move mountains, your character will influence others for Christ, and you will bear much fruit as His disciple. But you will need to acknowledge your divine identity as a daughter of the King. As difficult as it may be for you to believe, God made no mistakes when He formed you. You are beautiful in His sight. The more you accept this truth, the more equipped you will become to pursue your divine destiny and grasp your God-given gifts. So, I ask you, will you take a step toward possibility today? He's looking for surrendered hearts and raised hands. Do it boldly, do is afraid, but risk saying, "Yes, Lord, here is I am." Go in greatness today.
