As Christians, our lifestyle is a form of discipleship. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to "go and make disciples of all nations," and our lifestyle should reflect that. We are called to be living examples of the gospel and to live our lives in a way that reflects our faith.
Our lifestyle can be seen as a form of discipleship in three ways:
Our words
Our lifestyle is a witness to others in many ways, but one powerful way is through our word. I often tell my kids that often what we don't say is as powerful as what we do say. Evangelism and discipleship are not always a matter of sharing Christ by telling of Him. Often what people notice most is when we look like Him – when we forfeit gossip, speak highly of ourselves and others, and declare the truthful promises of God over our lives, people take notice. Living our lives in a way that reflects our faith stands out and shows the world around us who we are. When we live in a manner contrary to what society tells us is the norm, we stand out and inspire others to do the same.
Our service
Secondly, our lifestyle is an act of service. We are called to serve others, and when we live our lives in a sacrificial and selfless way, we are showing the world we care for them. We are showing that we are willing to put others before ourselves to help them, which is an act of discipleship. This can mean something other than a full-time ministry or traveling to remote regions. It is a moment-to-moment lifestyle of service that maintains an awareness of others.
Our actions
Finally, our lifestyle is a way of growing in our faith. When we live our lives in a way that aligns with what Jesus taught us, it helps us grow in our faith. We learn to trust God more and rely on Him for our needs. We become more dependent on Him and joyfully obey His commands. When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, this is particularly true. When we consider food and movement as a form of worship and discipleship, it changes everything. We shift a massive paradigm when we think of stewardship over our bodies in light of God's plan and purpose. You can read more about this topic on the blog:

Ultimately our lifestyle is a form of discipleship and an important one. It is a witness to others, an act of service, and a way of growing in our faith. As Christians, it is our privilege to live in a way that reflects our faith and honors God. Remember that our lifestyle is a form of discipleship, and we strive to live in such a way.
