There is something I want you to hear today, and I pray it sinks deep into your heart. If the enemy is fighting this hard to knock you down, it is because God has a powerful plan for your life. The devil does not waste time attacking what is not a threat.
If you have been facing a battle in your mind; Fear, anxiety, doubt, discouragement, confusion, or relentless mental battles, it doesn't mean you are broken. It may mean you are a threat.
Today I want to share part of my story and what the...

For many women, one of the deepest, most unfulfilled desires is simply to feel loved. From a young age, we often ask ourselves, “Am I worthy of love?” Unfortunately, the world we live in often measures a woman’s worth based on her appearance. With the constant influx of images and messages from magazines, television, social media, and movies, we are bombarded with a narrow definition of what it means to be beautiful. If we don’t measure up to this impossible standard, it’s easy to feel like...

The holiday season is officially upon us, and while it is a magical time, it can also be easy to get lost in the busyness of the season if we aren't intentional! One fun way that Sean and I have made Jesus and family the focus of the season is through advent scriptures and activities!
When Maddie was about two years old, we bought an advent calendar with pockets, and Sean filled it with hand written scriptures and something fun we could do as a family. Every evening for the month of December,...

Proverbs 4:23 instructs us to guard our heart ABOVE ALL ELSE, for out of our hearts flow the issues of life. Think of your heart as a garden, and everything you allow in your heart is a seed that gets planted. Everything that goes into our garden will eventually produce fruit either good or bad. Unfortunately, many times we end up with things in our garden we don't like, and then we have to do the hard work of uprooting it!
Instead of uprooting, let’s be be proactive about what seeds get sown....

Every morning I wake up bright and early before the rest of the house to spend quiet time with Jesus. It’s my favorite time of day! Here are my top five tips to spending time with Jesus, and growing in relationship with Him!
- Find a spot in your house that is cozy and quiet.
- Get a good bible in the version that speaks most clearly to you. I like this one.
- Buy a journal, and make it a goal to write down scriptures and other things God is speaking to you regularly. I like to start a new journal...

All throughout scripture we can see examples of different men and women who received a promise because they prayed in faith and knew God was faithful to His word. We can see this clearly when looking at Abraham. God gave him a promise that he would become the father of many nations when his wife was well past the age to bear children. (They were both about 100 years of age). Abraham had no reason in the natural to believe God, and to be quite honest, if he looked at his circumstances, he...

Flesh and spirit can't live in harmony ("For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for they are opposed to one another," Galatians 5:17).
It is good news that Christ has given us everything we need for victory, and the Spirit will prevail over us. Everyone has been discouraged at times on their journey to better health. If you're feeling disheartened today, I want to remind you of some truths. First, you can succeed if you don't...

An old English proverb says, “When we’re in a hurry, the Devil is happy.”
Hurry as we may, that thought should certainly be enough to stop us in our tracks and cause a bit of healthy reflection. For most of us, being busy is a way of life. From sunrise to sunset, an undercurrent of hurry drives our culture. So much so that “Hurry Sickness” is now considered a diagnosable condition. Without the careful pursuit of deceleration, our body, mind, and spirit suffer the effects of hurried living.

Recently, in the Dashing Dish Member's Forum, many of you asked for more support and material to help spiritual growth. Be still my heart! My favorite part of this community is the union we have in Christ. Today, I'm thrilled to share with you some of my favorite bible studies to help you grow in your walk with Jesus.
Let me preface this by saying, you absolutely can't go wrong with anything from Elizabeth George. This study, though, is my favorite.
